Frank Murnane Obituary
Frank J. Murnane, Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on his father Joseph's birthday December 5th, 3 weeks before his 90th birthday.
Born to Joseph and Cecilia Murnane in the near westside of Chicago, raised his family in the near western suburbs. Veteran of WWII stationed in Europe, Graduate of Fenwick class of '43, graduate of University of Notre Dame class of '49 after 3 years of military service.
Beloved husband of the late Irene, nee Keane until 1967, the late Dorothy, nee McDonald until 1977, and Rita, nee Dahlberg, from 1980 until the present. Devoted father of Frank Jr. (Jackie), Dorothy (Ed) Wehmer, Patrick (Mary Ellen), Mary Beth (Rich) Murphy; loving stepfather of the late Frank McDonald, Jamee (Jim) Langford, Caryn McDonald, Michael McDonald, Russell Dahlberg, Donna (Jim) Hyer, and the late Jamie Dahlberg. Cherished grandfather of Courtney (Sean) Farrell, Mackenzie (Mike) Grodecki, Francis (Joey) Murnane III, Jennifer (Michael) Lucas, Eddie Wehmer, Jr., Meggie Wehmer, Erin Wehmer, Ali Wehmer, Chris Wehmer, Irene Murnane, Kate Murnane, Abby Murnane, Richard Murphy IV, Ryan Murphy, Emmett Murphy, and Patrick Murphy. Dear great grandfather of Johnny Lucas, Claire Lucas, Matt Lucas, Patrick Farrell and Jack Farrell. Beloved brother of the late J. Hobie (Joan) Murnane, Marie (the late Robert) Walsh, Dorothy (the late Richard) McMahon, and John J. (Geri) Murnane.
Succeeded his father Joseph as President and Chairman of The Murnane Paper Company in 1958-1983, Chairman of Murnane Companies from 1983 to the present, Member of the Chicago Presidents Forum, Member of YPO/WPO, Inductee to the Fenwick Hall of Fame, and Knight of the Holy Sepulcher.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gibbons Elliston Funeral Home, 60 S. Grant Street, Hinsdale. Family and friends will meet for Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Vincent Ferrer Church, 1530 Jackson Ave., River Forest. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Frank's honor to Misericordia Home, 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago.

So sorry to hear about your dad. My
parents, Jack and Loretta loved him and Irene. They were so pleased to be invited to your family's new (at the time) location for the family business. Still remember what my mom wore to the wonderful event. Your mom and dad were wonderful people. Called your dad twice but never heard from him. May have been sick at the time. God Bless all the Murnane's.

Dear Frank Jr, sister Marie and family, I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful man as Frank. I am so blessed for the 2 years I have gotten to know him bringing them Holy Communion.
