Frances Spencer Obituary

Frances Hough Spencer, 88, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64114. Burial followed in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 2nd, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO, with the Rosary prayed at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208 or Christ the King Catholic Church. Frances was born October 13, 1920, in Solomon, KS. She attended Abilene High School and graduated from Dickinson County Community High School. She later attended Emporia State Teacher's College. She served in the Army Air Corps as a draftsman. After the war, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Hough, her husband of 21 years, Jacques, and her sister, Ruth Reed. She is survived by her brother, Reverend Roger Hough; son, Stephen (Charlene) Spencer; and loving nieces and nephews, Pat Green (Dennis), Mary Gaston, Nancy Simons (Dan), John Reed (Robin), Jim Reed, Joe Reed (Joyce), David Reed (Carmen). She was known as a loving sister, wife, mother, aunt and dear friend to all. Arrangements: McGilley State Line Chapel, 816-942-6180.
