Evlyn Marie Zamis-Richards-Prucha, 82, peacefully entered into Eternal Life on October 29, 2011, at her daughter's home in Metamora, IL, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 4, 1929 to Rudolph and Gertrude Zamis. She lived at 2802 S. Pulaski Road in Chicago. Generations of close family populated the neighborhood Evlyn grew up in. She graduated from Eli Whitney and Farragut High Schools and started her secretary skills within the family business, General Auto Repair. Summer times were enjoyed in New Buffalo, MI and North Aurora, IL. She worked at Peoples Gas and Light before marrying Theodore John Richards. They moved into their first home at 218 E. Cayuga in the beautiful town of Elmhurst, there they raised their five children. In 1972 she worked as a Merchandiser at Sperry & Hutchinson in Hillside, she was there until they closed then went to work at Phillips Flowers in Elmhurst. She moved to Port St. Lucie, FL after marrying Bob Prucha in 1985. Evlyn's a beautiful positive loving unconditionally nurturing lady who delighted in her family and life as a homemaker. She played the accordion in a musical group, loved the outdoors, dancing to the Big Band music, and traveling our country. Evlyn was preceded in death by Theodore John Richards and her sister Joy Dale Gossau. She is survived by her husbands daughters and son, Bob Prucha, Christine (Craig) Hudson, Kathleen (Dale) Wilke, David (Sandy) Richards, Margaret (David) Heller-Skinner, Patricia (Mark) Longnecker; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tony) Wolfe, Steven (Jenny) Wilke, Nicolette (Jeremy) Crutchfield, Brad (Rachel) Wilke, Melissa and James Heller; great-grandchildren, James, Andrew, & Kimberly Wolfe, Mitchel and Bailey Wilke, Nathan and Eliot Wilke, Bennett Marie Crutchfield. Evlyn, a very special lady, endeared by her family and extended family of whom there are many, was a daughter, sister, auntie, treasured friend, devoted wife, precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We rejoice in her life's passage - we grieve her passing but celebrate her life. it's the way it should be. Prospect, Elmhurst, IL 630-993-8186 on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A luncheon buffet will be served at 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason Funeral Homes, Germantown Hills, IL.
