Eunice Scelonge Obituary
Eunice O. Scelonge, nee Olson, died November 4, 2016 in Rockford, IL.
Born and raised in Chicago, she graduated from Chicago Teachers College. It was at college that she met her beloved Francis. She was a 57 year resident of Downers Grove where she taught and retired. She attended St. Paul's UCC. In 2007, she moved to Rockford to be near her immediate family.
Eunice was the beloved wife of the late Francis Scelonge; loving mother of Carol (Tom) Hughes; devoted grandmother of Carrie (Johnny) Croy; cherished great-grandmother of Sophia and Zooey; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Visitation Saturday 10:00AM until time of Memorial Service 11:00AM at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St. (1 blk. So. of Ogden Ave.) Downers Grove. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Care of America, 3815 N. Mulford, Rockford, IL 61114 or St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5739 Dunham Rd., Downers Grove, IL 60516 are appreciated.

Eunice was a dear friend of mine. We met while volunteering at Good Samaritan Hospital, in Downers Grove. When she moved to Rockford, we wrote to each other. Oh, how I will miss hearing from her. Rest in peace, dear Friend. Love you!

Eunice was a dear friend to me. We met while volunteering at Good Samaritan Hospital, in Downers Grove. When Eunice moved to Rockford, we kept in touch by writing each other. Oh, how I will miss hearing from her, I loved her letters. Rest in peace, dear Friend. Love you!

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Carol, and the whole family. I used to volunteer with Eunice at Good Sam's and really enjoyed her sense of humor and her kindness. Sorry I am unable to attend the service. I will always remember her.
