Eugene T. Marchuk
Eugene T. Marchuk, 73, of Westchester, Illinois, passed away (left this life) peacefully on May 29, 2023.
Gene was a graduate of Morton West High School, Berwyn, Illinois where he played football and wrestled; and a graduate of Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois where he started as an Offensive Guard on the 1970 Monmouth College Football Team.
After graduating from Monmouth College, Gene enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably on the Aircraft Carrier USS John F. Kennedy during the later stages of the Viet Nam War.
Following discharge from the Navy, Gene moved to Iowa and taught and coached football at Waterloo East High School. It was in Waterloo, Iowa, that Gene met his Wife, Diane.
Returning to Illinois, and changing his career path, Gene became a Tax Auditor for the Florida Department of Revenue in Hillside, Illinois.
Gene is predeceased by his parents, Carl and Lilyan (nee Kuzminchuk) Marchuk, his Wife, Diane (nee Dunning) and his Stepdaughter, Debby Baker. He is survived by his Stepson, David Dunning, his Stepdaughter, Sue (Quintin) Hoosman, his Stepgrandchildren, Quintin Hoosman, Tyler Hoosman and Sydney Hoosman, his Brother, Bob (Corri) Marchuk, and his Nephews, Matthew Marchuk and Michael Marchuk and trusted friends, Ken and Mary Ann Eiserman.
Gene was a loving Son, Husband and a supportive and kind Stepfather, Brother and Uncle. Gene loved dogs, whether his own or his neighbor's and was generous in his donations to animal shelters and pet care facilities.
In accordance with Gene's wishes, arrangements were private.
