Eugene L. Kasanders
Eugene L. Kasanders, age 99, long-time resident of Brookfield. WWII Marine Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Lorraine M. Kasanders, nee Sepich for 67 years; fond father of Thomas (Dianna) Kasanders, Paul (Mary Joe) Kasanders and the late Gary (Linda) Kasanders; dear grandfather of Teresa (Mike) Wilkins, Anthony (Rita) Kasanders, Rebecca (Chris) LaFleur, Stephanie (Frank) Amore, Rachel (Ryan) Paterson, Erin Kasanders, Lauren Kasanders, Christopher Kasanders, Meghan Kasanders, Steven Kasanders and the late Brandon Kasanders; dear great grandfather of nine; friend to many neighbors.
Gene was a U.S. Marine Veteran 1943-1946; had a 38 year career in banking; retired as Executive Vice President Commercial National Bank of Berwyn; Past President of Berwyn Kiwanis Club; Past President of Berwyn Development Corporation; Elected Village Clerk of Brookfield; Member of Msgr. John Farrell Knights of Columbus No. 4200; Member of Catholic War Veterans of Alexandria, VA. He served as Minister of Care, Eucharistic Minister, Reader and Counter and was an active parishioner at St. Louise de Marillac Church for over 50 years.
Visitation, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Wednesday, January 11, 2023 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd. 9445 W. 31st St., Brookfield, IL 60513. Funeral Wednesday 10:00 A.M. to St. Louise de Marillac Church, La Grange Park. Mass 10:30 A.M.
Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Gene was always helpful to me when I was working at MacNeal Hospital and needed funding for my homes. He made it possible for our family to be well housed and financed. A true gentleman and friend.
