Ethel Palenchar Obituary

Ethel L. Palenchar, age 85, a resident of Glen Ellyn since 1966, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Ethel was born January 20, 1924 in Detroit, Mi. She was a Homemaker. Ethel enjoyed reading and collecting antiques. She was a world traveler with many friends. She was a member of the Glen Oak Country Club and volunteer at the Wise Penny resale shop. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60+ years, Robert E. Palenchar. She is survived by her loving children, Patricia Atchinson of Plymouth, MI and James (Lizabeth Lynner) Palenchar of Denver, CO; cherished grandchildren, Susie (Matt) Lohman of Roswell, GA and Douglas (Pam) Atchinson of Solvang, CA; Ethan (Carey) Palenchar of Pittsburgh, PA, Nora (Jason) Gulden of Renton, WA,, 5 great-grandchildren and her sister, Betty (Don) Bersche of Garden City, MI. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 4:00 PM at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Private interment in Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville, MI. Memorials to CNS Hospice, 690 E. North Ave., Carol Stream, IL 60188 would be appreciated. Funeral information 630-469-0032.
