Ethel Palenchar Obituary

Ethel L. Palenchar, age 85, a resident of Glen Ellyn since 1966, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Ethel was born January 20, 1924 in Detroit, Mi. She was a Homemaker. Ethel enjoyed reading and collecting antiques. She was a world traveler with many friends. She was a member of the Glen Oak Country Club and volunteer at the Wise Penny resale shop. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60+ years, Robert E. Palenchar. She is survived by her loving children, Patricia Atchinson of Plymouth, MI and James (Lizabeth Lynner) Palenchar of Denver, CO; cherished grandchildren, Susie (Matt) Lohman of Roswell, GA and Douglas (Pam) Atchinson of Solvang, CA; Ethan (Carey) Palenchar of Pittsburgh, PA, Nora (Jason) Gulden of Renton, WA,, 5 great-grandchildren and her sister, Betty (Don) Bersche of Garden City, MI. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 4:00 PM at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Private interment in Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville, MI.
