I am so sorry to read that Esther has passed away. She taught me watercolor painting almost 30 years ago after my first daughter was born. I remember going to her basement in Brookfield and watching her patiently demonstrate her painting techniques to us. She was so good and helpful. I still have those paintings and the one she painted for me when my next daughter was born.
Three years ago, when we were looking for a retirement community for my mother (we lived in Brookfield,too), we went to a place where the director told us that a woman who just became a resident taught art classes. I asked who it was and for some reason, knew who she would say and, of course, she mentioned Esther. And wouldn't you know it, but my mother (who also knew her) and I bumped into Esther coming out of the elevator! It was so nice to see her again.
She will always be in my thoughts when I pick up my paintbrushes again. They are the same ones that I used back then.
