BOLINGBROOK – Ernestina H. Castillo, age 84, died at home Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Ernestina was born on November 6, 1939 in San Benito, TX the daughter of Jose and Amada (Hernandez) Castillo. She was employed as a Business Administrator with Simplex Grinnell for 30 years retiring in 2015. Ernestina was an avid reader and loved to garden. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Bolingbrook where she was active with the altar & rosary,
Survivors include, one son, Andy (Kira) Baltazar of Downers Grove; four sisters, Marie (Paul) Hess of Sterling, Odila Virgin of Niantic, CT, Mindy Todd and Crystal Fears both of Sterling; four brothers, Arnulfo (Peggy) Castillo, Isidro (Diana) Castillo both of Sterling, Mario Castillo of Belgrade, MT and Joe (Sue) Castillo of East Earl, PA; two grandchildren, Zoe and Zachary Baltazar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Juan, Roman and Antonio; one sister in infancy.
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2024 with Rosary recited at 4:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling with the Very Reverend James Keenan officiating, Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
