Ernie is ageless. It came as a complete surprise that he passed . . . the world without Ernie, difficult to imagine. Ernie is the embodiment of everything a good American should be, proud of his country, proud of his life, proud of his family, proud of who he was.

Many a garden plant and veggie thanked Ernie for their existence. Red, white and blue was his favorite color combination. Ernie and Nancy decorated a Christmas tree that blazed with lights.

He was a good neighbor, a good friend and just a downright special human being.

Thank you, Ernie, for entering my life. God speed, my friend, God speed.

Sincerely,

Hazel Teichen

Ernie was a one of a kind gentleman, always kind, calm, and humble. Having know him since I was a child and later as an adult working with him at events and activies for the Western Springs Historical Society, I witnessed his dedication to the residents of Western Springs. Ernie's gentle nature and kind smile will be missed in the community he loved.
