Erica Parus Obituary

Erica J. Parus nee Fox, 86, of Elmhurst, passed away December 1, 2012. Beloved wife of Anthony; loving mother of Patricia Horwitz, Michael Parus and Barbara Parus; grandmother of Kevin (Christine), Jonathan (Nancy) and Daniel; great grandmother of Jackson; sister of Barbara Fox and the late Audrey Frew and Edna Willard; aunt of many nieces and nephews. Erica Joyce Parus was born in England on December 22, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Helena Fox. She was a beauty pageant winner and a model before her marriage to Anthony Parus in 1947. The couple immigrated to Chicago in 1948. Mrs. Parus was an executive secretary at Kemper Insurance for more than 25 years, and later worked for many years at Boockford & Company in Oakbrook, IL, where she retired in 1993. She was a member of Visitation Church and loved knitting, writing poetry, gardening and her beloved pets. Memorial visitation at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S.
