Elmer Anderson Obituary

Elmer W. Anderson, age 74, of Downers Grove, passed away May 11, 2008. Born August 7, 1933 to Elmer and Grace (nee Cernak) Anderson of Downers Grove, he graduated from Downers Grove North High School, and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Elmer was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 80 in Downers Grove, with a strong love of God and country. He worked for International Harvester and Pepperidge Farm. Elmer is survived by his son Steve (Cathy) Anderson of Lisle; daughter Karin Anderson of Beloit, WI; grandchildren Jordan, Austin, Aaron, Emily, Tallyn and Cassie Jo; brothers Wes (Judy) Anderson, Lerry (Carol) Anderson; sisters Wilma (Richard) King, Renee Buerke, Gloria (Terry) Wineman, Jacque (Jim) Buchanan; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gary Michael Anderson. Services and interment Thursday, May 22 at 11:00, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
