Ellen McEnerney Obituary

Ellen M c Enerney Ellen Louise McEnerney, age 93, of Chicago, formerly of Elhurst, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at University of Chicago Hospital. Born August 1, 1920 in Lisbon, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Hans & Marie (Johnson) Bakke. Ellen was a proud member of the Armed Services having served in Africa and Italy, within the Allied HQ during WW II. She was a member of Tri Delta Sorority, and an avid bridge player. Ellen was a devoted wife to John for 46 years until his death in 1991. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sisters, and two grandchildren. Ellen is survived by one daughter, Mary Woolley, of Washington DC; two sons, Michael (Irene) of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Lawrence (Catherine) of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 8:30 a.m., at the O 'Connor - Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin, until time of graveside service at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
