Dear Carolyn: I can only imagine all the good time you and your family enjoyed together over the years. I see so much of who you became in the things I read about your mother and have learned about your father over the years. I wish you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Love from Amy

Dear Elliott Family: I loved both of your parents and was overjoyed to discover that Betty was a resident of The Meadows where my mom has been since February. I am only sad that I reconnected with her there only a couple of times when I happened to be getting in the elevator at the same time. Your father was one of my first and most important mentors and I was devastated when he passed away. Your mother kept me on the Christmas letter list for years and I loved hearing about all of your "growing up" events. I know you know how lucky you are to have had such wonderful parents. We will miss Betty now just as much as we miss Bob, but as one writer noted, they are together in eternity. I hope you feel comforted by the love that many will share with you at the memorial service. If I do not make it, please know that I am there in spirit. Fondly, Barb Dill-Varga (and family Steve and Alex)

To Tim especially--
I was saddened to hear of your mom's death. I regret that a conflict prevents me from coming to the celebration of her life.
Your whole family played such a valuable role for my son Rob Vischer. I am grateful that he was able to spend time in your home with all you guys that hung together during high school.
Your mom was also helpful to me upon the sudden death of my husband Bob. Though I did not know her well, I am glad that we had several valuable conversations.
May you know God's comfort in your loss.

Jeanne,
From your friends at Nuveen, please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of your mother. A loss of a parent is never easy, however, she will always be in your fondest memories.

What a great lady she was! Sharp as a tack to the end. Her sweet smile was only matched by her sweet tooth. Betty's intelligence was her hidden talent, but it never remained hidden for too long. All you had to do was sit and have a conversation and you knew she was on top of things. She and Bob raised 4 good citizens; in addition to the part they played in raising many Glen Ellyn youth thru Glenbard West.
Dr. & Mrs. Elliott will be missed, but they live on in Glen Ellyn.

I knew Betty through Faith Lutheran Church. At some point, we discovered we were both Augustana grads, although 23 years apart. After that, I felt a special kinship with her. Sending comfort and sympathy to the family at this time.

I knew Betty just a few years. You don't have to know Betty very long to realize what a quality person she is. She loved to talk and I loved to listen to her interesting stories. This world is a better place because of her. How truly sad it is that this world has to lose people like her. Those she leaves behind will grieve her loss. Those who preceded her in death, will welcome her with open arms. First in line to welcome her will be her husband Bob, after all he has been waiting 22 years to be reunited with her. This time they will be together for eternity. You could say their life together is just beginning.

Betty lived a very full life, with tough challenges and a constant smile. Her amazing family will continue the Elliott legacy of community interest, caring for others and sharing a love of life.
