Edward Paul Spiegel, age 86, passed away on September 6, 2022 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois on July 21, 1936. He was the beloved and dear husband of Dolores, née Cada for 62 years. He was the loving father of Diana Marie (Gerald) Goldstein and Edward William (Antonette) Spiegel. Cherished grandfather of Jordan (Jordan) Goldstein, Julia Goldstein, and Justin Spiegel. Dear brother of Carol (Victor) Preiksa. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Son of departed Edward Walter Spiegel and Francis Julia Spiegel.
Ed graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago in 1955 and then graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962, making Specialist 5. Ed was employed at Elkay Mfg. in Broadview and Oak Brook, Illinois as an accounting manger for thirty-nine years.
Ed was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and an avid spectator of many sports. He was a prolific traveler, visiting many places around the world. His favorite activity was spending the winters in Florida. Ed was a wonderful family man and a devoted friend who will be missed by all.
