Rice, age 86, of Downers Grove and formerly of Berwyn; beloved husband of 62 years to Elaine Rice, nee Hanna; loving father of Michael (Ellen) Rice, Mary (Daniel) Flynn and the late Karen (David) Osterman; loving grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 11; dear brother-in-law of John W. (Lola) Hanna; fond uncle of 5.
Visitation Monday 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Tuesday 9:15AM from Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St. (1 blk. So. of Ogden Ave.) Downers Grove to St. Mary of Gostyn Church, 445 Prairie Ave., Downers Grove. Mass 10:00AM. Interment Private.

To the entire Rice Family;
Our deepest sympathy to you all. He was the heart and soul of the 'ol neighborhood in Berwyn. You could be driving down the alley and you would always see him out in the yard! He loved taking care of his yard. He was always up for a good conversation and a "cocktail." So many good times! Heaven gained a very special man and truly a one of a kind. You will all continue to be in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.
Rest in peace Ed, Mr. Rice.

We are so saddened by the loss of Mr rice. Neighbors come and go but we will always have Mr rice in our hearts as a great friend. We will miss him forever and always. We send our love to the rice family and wish them the very best in the days ahead. May God bless you and keep you in the palm of his hand.
