I had the pleasure of being coached both in baseball and in life by Ed Mahay at Robert Morris College in 2001 and 2002. He instilled a strong work ethic, demanded respect both for and from the game and players, and taught discipline and strength. Coach Mahay was a very compassionate and understanding man who will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Coach Mahay was my pitching coach at Robert Morris College from 2000-2003. He was a genuine and thoughtful man that cared deeply for those around him. I speak on behalf of all the gentleman I played with that share the same regard that I do of Coach Mahay. He will be missed.

My prayers and warmest thoughts are extended to the Mahay Family. Mr. Mahay was a great man and a good friend to our family. Although I haven't seen many of the Mahays (with the exception of Ed last year at our kid's golf match) I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about your family. Mr. Mahay was certainly a mentor to many. He was a person that I always looked up to.

Extending our love and prayers for you. "When a stone is dropped into a lake, it quickly disappears from sight- but it's impact leaves behind a series of ripples that broaden and reach across the water" Mr. Mahay may no longer be walking on this earth-but his ripples are clearly still reaching those whose lives he touched. Wishing you peace, comfort, and love- Terri O'Neill, Jordan and Colleen Bielfeldt

Dear Lee
Sonny will be in my prayers from now until we meet again. He was a great guy to know through HS and beyond. we met when we were both sophs , he at carmel and me at philips. I liked him immediately like anyone whoever has met him.
I'm sure he developed into a grand man and father. Our life paths went far afield from each other but I've always held a special place in my heart for friends like yourself and sonny. (despite what you may think about icehouse and myself trying to influence your mom and dad thru your dad's refrigerator.)
God Bless Marty.

I had the honor and privilege of knowing Ed when we were Sergeants at Area 2 Property Crimes in the 1980's. He was a great guy to be around, and the kind of person that was easy to get to know. There is no doubt that he will be missed by many.

My deepest sympathies go out to the Mahay family. He was Coach Mahay to me - Ed was my high school baseball coach at St. Rita. He taught me life-long lessons and had one of the kindest hearts of anyone I've ever met. My life is better because of the time I was able to share with him.
