Edith was a pal, one of those special people who greeted you in the same familiar way, whether it had been months or years since you'd last met. Her distinctive, cheery voice lives on in my memory.

Annette and I are sorry to hear of Edie's death. Annette liked her from the first time they met. That's true for me too, but I can't remember when that was - age 4 or 5 I suspect, visiting at your grandparent's home. She always lavished extra attention on little people. And her incessant pixie-ish sense of humor was unmatched! Definitely a life worth celebrating!

We learned of Edith's victory from a resident of Beacon Hill.
We have fond memories of visiting with her there, and years earlier in her home in Elmhurst. She recounted how she met her future husband at my dad's wedding in Hinsdale in 1936. Her faithfulness to those around her was notable.
