Drew Wigley Obituary

Wigley, DREW, 71, died Sunday, May 22, 2004, in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Shepherd of the Hills Baptist Church, Nocona, with the Rev. Walter Haynie, pastor, officiating. Internment will be private for the family. Drew was born December 3, 1932, in Hapeville, Georgia, to the late Alice Wigley and Drew Wigley. He worked in the aviation business for 45 years and owned Texan Aviation International. Drew proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was the former commander of the American Legion Post 220. Drew was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Lions Club. Drew embraced the Nocona community and supported many civic and charitable organizations and was named Citizen of the Year in 1999. Drew is survived by five children, Sharon Young and her husband, Michael Young of Dallas; Drew Wigley and his wife, Colleen Wigley of Oak Point; Wayne Wigley of Grapevine; Alice Ballow and her husband, Jeff Ballow of Grand Prairie; and Kyle Wigley of Oak Point; one brother, Charles (Buddy) Wigley; and Anna Hannibal. Drew is also survived by four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Wigley. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Shepherd of the Hills Baptist Church.
