Born: November 1, 1920

Died: April 9, 2018

Dorothy J. Hrovatin, 97, of Elmhurst, IL, passed from this life to the next on April 9, 2018. Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Frank & Maria (Remec) Hrovatin. She was born on November 1, 1920 in Elmhurst and that is where she lived all her life.

Dorothy was a kind, generous and loving daughter, sister and aunt. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception parish. Dorothy loved her career as an operating room nurse at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. Dorothy valued her independence.

Surviving are her sister, Virginia Coulombe; and sister-in-law, Lorene Hrovatin; 16 nieces and nephews, 28 great nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Wawak; and brothers-in-law, Louis Coulombe and Frank Wawak; brothers, Frank, Emil, Rudolph, Stanley, Herman, Robert and James; and sisters-in-law, Ruby, Olive, Ann and Joyce and Helen; as well as some nieces and nephews.

Visitation at the Pedersen Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York Street, Elmhurst, on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. prayer service and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Elmhurst, Funeral Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts will be used for a nursing scholarship. For info 630-834-1133
