Doris M. Keane, 89, of Walworth, WI formerly of Florida and Harvard, IL; passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Golden Years Nursing Home in Walworth, WI.
She was born on October 10, 1926, in Manchester, New Hampshire the daughter of the late Bertrand and Marie (Cantin) Lambert.
Doris worked as an R.N at the Woodstock Memorial Hospital for 22 years. On August 18, 1951, she married Patrick M. Keane Jr., in Battle Creek, MI they had 9 children.
Doris will be remembered as being a devoted Catholic, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was kind and compassionate, charitable, strong, patient, and faithful. Doris enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and word puzzles.
Survivors include her children, Deacon Michael (Deborah) Keane of Marengo, Colleen (Richard) Nelson of Woodstock; Dr. Kevin Keane of Cochranville, PA, Mary (Terry) Whiston of Arlington, Heights, Sheila (Larry) Hansen of Woodstock, Patricia (Carl) Nomm of Woodstock, Nancy (David) Thurow of Woodstock, and Alice (David) Henson of Harvard; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Patrick Keane Jr.; infant son, Thomas Patrick; and sister, Theresa Dusten.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL 60033. A Rosary will follow at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St. Harvard, IL 60033; with Father Steven Clarke officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Years in Walworth and St. Croix Hospice for providing excellent care for Doris.
