Donna Gene Adams, nee Stover, 90, passed away on January 14, 2016, surrounded by family at Edward Hospital, Naperville, Illinois. She was born on December 11, 1925, in Johnston City, Illinois to Don Stover and Edna (Davis) Stover, eldest of three daughters. Donna grew up in Western Springs, Illinois. She graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois.
Donna married Eric C Adams on July 5, 1947, in Western Springs, Illinois in her back yard. They were happily married until his death in 1976. She enjoyed researching into her Family Tree and compiled over a hundred pages of family history. She ran a successful drapery business, started by sister Wilma, from her home for many years following Wilma's death.
Donna is survived by one sister, Jane (Richard) Bernardini; 3 children, Richard (Glenna) Adams, Marilyn (William) Stevens, and Mary Catherine (John) Engberg. She is survived by 6 grandchildren, Clover (Thomas) Kincheloe, Casey Evans, David (Kirstie) Adams, Katherine Adams, Amy (Christopher) McGovern, and Jed (Sarah) Engberg. 7 great-grandchildren include Avani and Hugo Kincheloe, Ryker and Nial McGovern, Declan Engberg, and Karina and Ethan Adams. Also surviving are a niece and many nephews in the northern Illinois area. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Her positive attitude will be missed by her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Beidelman - Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, Illinois from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 7th. A short service of remembering will be held at 3:30 pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Morton Arboretum, Development Dept., 4100 Rt 53, Lisle, Illinois 60532 where Donna was a member more than 25 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Downers Grove.
