Dear Byrd and extended family,
Don was a great man in every way. He had a great sense of humor and a "can do" spirit which helped all of those he touched.
Laura and I just heard the news; we will pray for your loss knowing how he will be missed by you, Pat, Laura, Tom and the grandchildren.

Mrs. Kelly & family, I just heard today of Mr. Kelly's death and wanted to send my deepest condolences to you and your family. I will never forget Mr. Kelly and his wonderful sense of humor and kindness when we went on vacation with our families at Paw Paw Lake, Mi. Dear Byrd,
It is with sadness that I just learned of the passing of Don. He and Bill will now be the new athletic directors for the Notre Dame team from heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

Mrs. Kelly, I want to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. One thing for sure,there is one heck of a tailgate party going on in heaven with Mr. Kelly, Jim Rodgers, Jack Rodgers and Bill Ethridge.

The special needs individuals at St. Coletta's of Illinois expressed our sympathies to the Kelly Family for their generosity to St. Coletta's in the care of God's most vulnerable population. He will be remembered in our prayers.

Wynnette and I are saddened to learn of your loss. Don was a wonderful person who lived life to its fullest. He was a great story teller, and fun companion on the golf course. He loved his family and this nation of ours very much. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. The Kelly family remains in our thoughts and prayers.

The mark that he, your mom, your siblings and you have made in Chicago and far places like Souh Bend and Green Bay are a true testimony to an unusual generosity of spirit and treasure.
