Donald Hunsicker Obituary
He was the owner and operator of the Blue Bugle Bar and Restaurant, Stroudsburg, from 1970-91, and also formerly owned and operated the Donald A. Hunsicker Funeral Home and the Hunsicker Furniture Store, both of Brodheadsville. He also worked as a manager for the Chandler 23 Bar and Restaurant, Reeders, and at the Coral Reef, Tannersville.
Hans served as Monroe County Coroner and worked as a monitor at the former East Stroudsburg State College, East Stroudsburg.
Born in Ashfield, he was a son of the late Albert O. and Violet (VanHorn) Hunsicker.
He was a former member of the Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashfield.
Hans served our country with dedication and courage in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are two nieces, Donna Smith, and her fiancée, Edward Taschler, of Lehighton, and Debra, wife of Thomas Jenkins of Orlando, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Marcella Hunsicker of Lehighton; and a friend, David Druckenmiller of Saylorsburg.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carl V., who died April 5, 2009, and Clair R., who died Jan. 14, 1988.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Rt. 209, Gilbert with the Rev. Anthony Pagotto officiating. Interment, Dinkey Memorial Cemetery, Ashfield. Call 7-9 o'clock tonight and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

So sad it's taken this many years to find out about Hans' passing. My deepest condolences to the family. I first met Hans in 1971 when Tony Lozada introduced us. Now both are gone. Tony passed away in Texas some years ago.
Farewell old friend, you are missed.

Hans brought alot to his community- he will be missed. He could be the best of friends- but when his "German" was up, you better watch out!!LOL..... AUF WIEDERSEHEN MEIN FRUEND!

I was saddened to hear of Hans' passing. He was a dear man with a great sense of humor. I'll never forget the Great Parties at the Bugle with Hans, David and the "Family". Nor will I forget the visits to our store on Main Street in Stroudsburg when he always had those Martini's to go.. Gloria and Stevens "tini's" they were great. God Speed our old friend and deepest sympathies to David and Families'.

I'm so sorry to hear of Han's passing, he was always kind and compassionate during difficult times in my life. May his memories always be fond ones and the sounds of his laughter remain with you. I still remember the song on the juke box "Sailor" which I still sing from time to time. I miss those days and will always remember Hans.
