Dode Daniel Coudare
Dode Daniel Coudare was born June 20, 1933, in Everett, and passed away August 6, 2006, in Richland, Washington, from cancer.
Dode is survived by Sandra Coudare, his loving wife and best friend for 52 years. He was surrounded at his time of death by his children, Debbie Coudare, Kimber Hughes, Laurie Coudare-Berry, Mike Coudare and Denise Moberg. Also present were sons-in-law, Michael Atkins, Jeff Hughes, Ron Berry, Ward Moberg, and daughter-in-law, Jackie Coudare. Dode was blessed with the following grandchildren, who were also present at his time of death, Kyle Hughes, Lindsay Hughes, Christopher Berry, Jason Berry, Jamace Coudare-Atkins, Tyler Coudare, Bryce Coudare-Atkins, Kevin Berry, Colton Moberg, and Jalen Moberg. He was also survived by his siblings, Bonnie Coudare, Darrel Coudare, Donna May Riedel, Larry Andersen, Don Smith, and Donna Jean Smith.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Phillip Coudare.
Dode was a man dedicated to his family and friends. His deeds always spoke louder than his words. Dode graduated from Everett High School and served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He served on the USS Phillippine Sea and was awarded the following: United Nations Medal, Korean Service Medal (Five Stars), China Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. In his own words, "I'm a fortunate Man," and "I Fought the Good Fight."
Besides his family his passions were fishing, working in his yard, and helping his neighbors and friends.
The Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., August 25, 2006, at Tahoma National Cemetery. Following will be a reception celebrating Dode's life at 3 p.m., at the home of his daughter, Debbie Coudare, in Mukilteo, Washington.
