Elizabeth, While we have never met, I feel I have learned something of your family from the correspondence Dennis and I shared over the past several years. As classmates and fraternity brothers at Wesleyan Univ., Dennis I and I enjoyed a special bond. I will miss his letters and the chance to share my life with a real soulmate.
My deepest condolences to you, Brian, and Kathryn.

Dear Dr. Carroll:
I am truly saddened to hear of Dr. Kennedy's passing. He helped me through some extremely difficult situations and helped me to go on after my husband's death. I learned of his death yesterday when I called your office. God Bless you and your family. He was truly a kind, compasionate "gentle man".

Dear Elizabeth,
Jim Sindelar, a fellow classmate of Dennis and mine from RBHS 59 informed me of Dennis' passing. Please accept my condolences. Dennis was an outstanding person. As you may know, he was one of only eight class members selected as most outstanding back in 1959. I know he'll be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Best wishes to you and your family.

Dear Elizabeth and family,
On behalf of the entire Riverside Brookfield High School Class of 1959, I extend our condolences on the passing of our esteemed friend Dennis. Dennis embodied the finest qualities of our class and was a friend to all. Many have asked about him and have tried to keep in touch throughout his illness. Dennis will always be known for his clear thinking and warm compassion.

My wife Claire and I enjoyed our fine dinner together with you just a few short years ago and looked forward to seeing you at the 50th Reunion, but that was not to be. We extend our deepest sympathy on your loss.

Elizabeth, I am sorry I was not able to attend the service Saturday. I don't really know you but I considered Dennis a dear friend. I have cut his hair for years. We always had deep , deep conversations. He was one of the best read people I have ever known but more important his insight to that information and the beautiful ability to infuse it into our lives. I always looked forward to his visits and missed them during the gaps the last few years. I hate that the world has lost one of the really good guys. When, we, the world needs them the most. May God comfort your soul and that in time you may have peace in your life in joy of the years the two of you had together and will yet have together.

Dear Elizabeth, Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mama always spoke highly of Dennis. I'm so glad you had him to share your life with.
