Debra Polovina Obituary

Debra Jean Sterka Polovina
Died: July 21, 2023
Debra Jean Polovina, age 69 of Naperville, Illinois passed away July 21, 2023. She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Robert Polovina, her mother Audrey Sterka (nee Sikorski), stepson; Ted (Jenny) Polovina, brothers; David (Linda) and Daniel Sterka, sister; Deanna (Chris) Patush, sister-in-law; Lori Sterka, grandson; Milan Polovina, her faithful dog Lucy Lou and many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. Debra is preceded in death by her father; George Sterka, her brother Doug Sterka and her sister Donna Sterka. Debra had a love for thrift shopping, gardening, fishing and entertaining. She had an annual cookie bake for family and friends, and every New Years Eve she held a party for all her friends over 60. Debra went to heaven on Friday, July 21st at 2:20 p.m. By her side was Bob, her husband of 42 years of happiness together. Her faithful dog Lucy was there too. She was looking out the window at the beautiful garden she loved so much, and the birds were chirping. She fought a bitter battle with pancreatic cancer since January 7, but she never gave up. She thought she would win, but she was facing an unbeatable foe. Every day we would talk about our life together, places we went and people we knew. Always listening to music too, What A Wonderful World was her favorite song, by Louie Armstrong. She would take her nieces to stage plays, Wizard of Oz festivals and the Walnut Room on Christmas. She loved her family and friends. I wish I had kissed her more each day, held her hand more and told her I loved her more. I talk to her every day I tell her I love her. Her friends and family miss her too. She is now in heaven with her brother Doug, her sister Donna, and her father George. She is up there working in some garden and fishing with her brother Doug.
Private family services will be held for Debra.
