Deanna Powell Doud

Deanna Doud Obituary

Deanna Powell Doud 1952 ~ 2003  Deanna Powell Doud, 50, passed away July 13, 2003 in Atlanta, GA., from complications related to a long and courageous battle with rheumatoid arthritis. Her beautiful and compassionate spirit will be greatly missed by all that were privileged to know and associate with her.  Deanna was born July 20, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Oren and Burnyce Powell. She was raised in Utah and graduated from Skyline High School in 1970. She moved to Southern California in 1973 where she eventually met and married her beloved husband of 20 years, Jeff Doud. They later moved to Roswell, Georgia where she was a devoted wife and mother to her two children, Jesse Doud and Erica Doud. Her greatest joy was her family. Deanna was a special spirit on Earth, who suffered greatly through the years with RA, but never complained nor let it stop her from living life. She had a beautiful singing voice and a special gift to love unconditionally. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Deanna is survived by her husband Jeff; son, Jesse; daughter Erica; mother and father, Oren and Burnyce Powell; Sister, Charlene Nelson (Craig); brother, Jim Powell (Shannon); and mother-in-law, Mary Doud. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Jim Doud, step-mother-in-law, Judy Doud and step-father-in-law, Bob Folks.  A special memorial will be held in her behalf on Sat., July 19, 2003, at the LDS chapel located at 1160 E. Vine Street, (approx. 6000 S.), Salt Lake City, 11 a.m. The family will greet visitors from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Arthritis Foundation can be made in Deanna's name. Arthritis Foundation, 550 Tharr Rd., Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30305.

Jeff,
I heard of your loss thru your tremendous network of friends which I am honored to be a small part of. You and Deanna were obviously both blessed to have each other in your lives, and for that, I am happy for you. May we all be so fortunate. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Oren and Family:
I would like to express my sorrow upon the passing of your daughter. It has been many years since I've seen you and think of you when I reminisce my past and working with you at State Savings & Loan in SL. I'm living in Southern Utah after retiring from Summit County. I certainly hope you've been blessed with good health these many years.

I send my prayers that the Lord will comfort and bless all of you during this grieving time.
God bless you!

I met Deanna a few years ago, through Carolyn Porter. What an angelic soul she is, so selfless and giving. I placed her name on the Transition List at Sancta Sophia Seminary. They will keep it for 30 days, praying for her during weekly meditation. Bless all of you as you work through your grief.
