David Joseph Gualandi

David Joseph Gualandi of Morris went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the age of 71 after a long, difficult battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loving family and passed in his home.

Born March 24, 1947 in Fairbury, Illinois, David was the son of the late Louis and Katie (Reddy) Gualandi. Dave married Linda Byers on March 30, 1968. He was Linda's true love of 50 years. He was a dedicated employee of Lyondell, retiring there after 44 years when his health declined.

Dave enjoyed golf, but his true love was going to his grandchildren's sporting events, dances, cub scouts, concerts, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed gardening with his wife.

Survived by his wife, Linda; children, Robert L (Stacey) Gualandi of Elwood and Jennifer (Ray) Hickey of Naperville; grandchildren, Corey and Connor Gualandi and Austin, Avery, and Ashlyn Hickey; and his siblings, Kathy Petersen, Judy (Mark) Eckblad, Jim Gualandi, Susie (Mickey) Evans, Patty (Doug) Gray, Larry (Suzanne) Gualandi, and Donna (Brian) Lovell.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Morris, with Pastor Robert Sathuri and Pastor Laura Wilson Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Saratoga Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in David's name to the First United Methodist Church of Morris, St. Jude or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
