Cleo C. "Sarge" Griffin, 88, at rest May 5, 2011 at Hines V.A. Hospital. Born July 13, 1922 in Wortham, TX. Resident of Lemont for 50 years. Veteran of W.W. II U.S. Army. Retired from Argonne Labs and the Lemont Post Office. Beloved husband of the late Matilda "Tillie". Loving father of Mary (William) Kasten of Idaho, Kathleen (Chester "Len") Johnson of Eagle River, Wi., Diana (William) Ekkert of Lemont and Lori (Bert) Thompson of Lockport. Devoted grandfather of 9, great-grandfather of 10. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He is survived by 4 brothers and sisters. Preceded in death by two siblings and his parents George and Mary nee Blanchard. Funeral Services were held Tuesday May 10, 2011 at Gerharz-Cappetta Funerl Home 501 State St., Lemont, Rev. Glenn B. Dee- I have many great memories of Cleo- his southern drawl, his laught, and him not hearing anything you where trying to tell him. God bless you and your family at this hard time. His is in a better place.
