Clark Eugene "Gene" Frantz, age 77, of Elmhurst, passed away January 17, 2011. Born in Douglas County, IL January 12, 1934. Beloved husband of Dorothy Frantz nee Rodgers; father of Robert (Priscilla) Frantz and Marilyn (Timothy) DeYoung; grandfather of Kent and Ariel Frantz and Megan DeYoung; dear son of the late Clark and Edythe Frantz; brother of Elaine Frantz and the late Lorraine Murray; uncle of Michael Murray. Gene was a graduate from Eastern Illinois High School and received a Bachelors and Masters degree from Eastern Illinois University. He was an Industrial Education teacher and football coach at Proviso West High School and a member of Yorkfield Presbyterian Church, Elmhurst. Visitation at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday. Memorial Services 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 21 at Yorkfield Presbyterian Church, 1099 S. York Rd., Elmhurst. Interment private.
