Christopher Reed Green, born on July 5, 1959, in Topeka, Kansas, left a remarkable legacy that touched the lives of many. He peacefully passed away on December 14, 2023 in La Grange, Illinois, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound impact on those who knew him.
Chris's life was filled with diverse passions and accomplishments. After graduating from Lyons Township High School in 1977, he went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in technology and was among the first in the family to immerse himself in a career in technology at US Cellular and Ingalls Memorial Hospital. His keen interest led him to pursue and excel in various endeavors within this field.
Chris also had an eye for craftsmanship. He dedicated himself to rehabbing homes in Brookfield, LaGrange and LaGrange Park, pouring his heart and soul into each project, ensuring they turned out beautifully.
He had a love for adventure as well as travel and a passion for scuba diving. Belize held a special place in his heart, visiting multiple times. Chris enjoyed a myriad of other hobbies including triathlons, fishing and cooking. Favorite traditions of his included making a big corn beef feast and hosting friends and family for St. Patrick's Day or whipping up a batch of his famous cinnamon rolls to share at work. He also had a special place in his heart for animals especially his rescues including his cat, Sabrina and dog, Blue.
Beyond his hobbies, Chris thoroughly enjoyed time surrounded by loved ones. His laughter resonated, filling gatherings with warmth and joy. He held a special place in the hearts of his friends and family, leaving fond memories with his infectious spirit and the twinkle in his eye.
He is survived by his loving parents, Ben and Sharon Green, and leaves many great memories treasured by family and friends including his three sisters and their spouses: Lisa (Shaun) Betzel, Julie (Steve) Lenihan, and Amy (Tom) Kiley. Chris will be dearly missed by his eight nieces and nephews, Mike, Alex, Joanna, Jake, Ray, Peter, Alyssa and Adam, along with his great-grandniece, Eden.
Chris will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, unwavering dedication, and the love he shared generously with those around him. His departure leaves a void that can only be filled by the loving memories he leaves behind.
A celebration of Christopher's life will be held in the spring to honor his memory. Please contact a member of the family for details.
