Charles Bearby Obituary
Charles D. "Bud" Bearby, World War II US Navy Veteran, he served from 9/8/42 to 10/26/45, aboard the battleship, USS Pennsylvania. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for meritorious service; beloved husband of the late Doris Gale (nee Smith); loving father of Norma Lynne (Jack) Border of Downers Grove, IL. Theresa Louise "Terri" (Jon W. Lawrence) of Baulkham Hills, NSW Australia, Robert Arthur Bearby of Chicago, IL and Andrea Lee "Cookie" (James R.) Fetterhoff, Long Lane, MO; Cherished grandfather of Daniel and Jennifer Lawrence, Charles Edward and James Christopher Fetterhoff.
Bud and Doris both retired in 1984 and moved from Chicago Heights, IL to Clearwater FL where Bud became active in the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 11 serving over the years as Chaplain and as Commander.
He was also a long time member of American Legion Post 80 in Downers Grove.
He moved back to Wheaton IL in June, 2015 and had been a resident at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton.
A Memorial Service was held on March 10th at American Legion Post 80, Downers Grove, IL.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to either the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or the American Legion.
