Cecilia Strougal Obituary

Cecilia A. Strougal, 95, formerly of LaGrange Park, IL. At peace April 11, 2008 at Sunrise of Naperville. She was born in Chicago on June 22, 1912 to Joseph and Anna Unger. Cecilia is survived by her loving children, Edward (Patricia) Strougal of Atlanta, GA, John (Susan) Strougal of Lisle, Paula (Michael) Lambrecht of Crystal Lake; her grandchildren, Angela Strougal, Kristen (Edward) Sheera, Edward (Marta) Strougal, Benjamin, John, Timothy, Quinton (Jan) and Cecilia Light, John, Jr. (Vanessa) Strougal, Becky (Michael) Iorio. Stephanie Strougal, Michael Lambrecht, Nicholas (Barbara) Lambrecht, and her 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward J. Strougal, daughter Cecilia Anne (Ben) Light and her siblings, Henrietta, Amelia and Joe. Cecilia graduated from Morton High School and was the school newspaper editor. She was the president of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Women's Club, LaGrange. She was also a volunteer for many years at an area nursing center and in 1991 she was named Southwest Suburban Activity Professionals Association Volunteer of the Year for her selfless efforts.
