To the Reid and Wiesbrock Families,
You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this time of your loss. Cathy was not only a very close family friend but a very special friend to me during our growing up years. We spent many special times together and my memories of her will always have a very special place in my heart.
God Bless,
Jim Sheridan

I echo what Anne wrote... We are all praying for you in this difficult time. Aunt Catherine was an incredible lady. She was the kind of person, who made lemonade when she was given a bunch of lemons.
Some of my favorite memories as a kid growing up involve her is some fashion...
Who can forget the 4th of July at the farm, when Matt and I had combined birthdays? Swimming all day, then gathering around the bonfire? If it wasn't hot enough, we made it even hotter with a bonfire. It WAS July... But, Aunt Catherine was very resourceful... so when the fire started to die down, she put a paper bag on her head to stir the pile (Because it was too hot to get close). We all had many laughs with her.
How about the time all of us cousins loaded up in the yellow suburban, and drove into Macomb to watch Star Wars at the Drive-in? (It is still the best version I ever saw of that movie). I think we made home-made pizzas too... (please verify).
How about the time Aunt Catherine came down with the kids to the farm and we were "given the opportunity" to walk beans? It didn't seem to matter what we did, She and Auntie Meg always seemed to make it fun. I remember specifically, all of us cousins walking beans at the East Farm, cutting out volunteer corn and weeds... I remember them making us all a picnic lunch and we all sat under the huge Elm tree eating them during the heat of the day. Lots of Laughs!
And then there were the times when Aunt Catherine and the cousins came to farm when it was snowy outside... You all remember when my dad hooked up the sleds to the back of the tractor? I remember Aunt Catherine laughing so hard telling and re-telling the story of how Dad (Uncle Neil) tried to "crack the whip" while pulling us on the sleds, and trying to throw us off... Actually, us smaller cousins stayed on the sleds better if I recall it correctly!
Aunt Catherine was always willing to take time to visit and to laugh and tell old stories, and laugh. She always put a heavy emphasis on family. She was always quick to write a note of encouragement and inspiration... I loved that about her.
I remember later in life, as I got a family of my own, appreciating the enormous efforts she must have made as a single mother raising 5 kids. All of which, have turned out pretty good!!! ;-) I came to appreciate the structure and discipline that she ran her household by.
I remember her getting much much closer in her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She always was ready to give a testimony of what God had done in her life. I remember Aunt Catherine reading the Book of John to Grandma Wiesbrock the 2 weeks prior to Grandma Wiesbrock's passing.
I know I will miss Aunt Catherine, but I look forward to seeing her again, eventually, in Heaven where stories and laughs will continue for eternity.
Love, Greg and Gail Welsh and family.

Hello Reid Family!
Please know you kids are in our thoughts and prayers. This is never and easy time for anyone, but be assured Catherine is happy and smiling with her mom, dad, aunts and uncles. What a pleasure Catherine always was, I have very fond memories of her. What an amazing mother too, a role model for all of us. My thoughts are with her children who I also adore. Love Love to you all!
