A fellow grammar school classmate of Carl and me wrote to me at Christmas to advise me that Carl had died. Carl and his family moved across the alley from our family when he and I were around 6 years old. We became good friends, and went to the same grammar school. We went to different high schools but remained friends. Then we each went away to different colleges for undergraduate and law school, and lost contact. After the death of their husbands, Carl's mother and mine became close friends, often traveling together, and I heard about Carl indirectly then but not since. I am sorry to learn of his death, and I hope that the good times shared with Carl by his family and friends will ease their suffering in the months and years ahead.

Diane,
I just learned of Carls passing and was saddened by the news. Please accept my condolences. You had a wonderful life together and it was evident to all that he deeply loved you. I will always remember him as an intelligent, kind, generous man with a dry, quick wit and sense of humor. He was the consummate gentleman with a very big heart. Remember the good times spent together and he will always watch over you. +Memory Eternal.

I remember our poker games in George Mueller's basement, and the wiffle ball games we had in my alley and that big beautiful blue Pontiac Bonneville Carl drove to Las Vegas to stay at the SANDS ( we took rt 66 )

My deepest condolences. Carl was a friend and mentor and will be missed by many.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die. (Mary E. Frye)
