Byron Green Obituary

Byron Green of Frankfort, Kentucky died December 24, 2011 at the age of 91 in the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction under the loving care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado. He was born in North Vernon, Indiana December 6, 1920. Mr. Green was one of 10 children born to Dewey and Mae D. Green. He grew up In Shelbyville, Kentucky and retired from 45 years of service to I.B.M. as a field service manager in 1978. He married Martha Utterback in 1942. He was an active member of The First Christian Church. He was an avid golfer and shot his age at 87. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Virginia Sainsbury, Mary Doyen; brothers, Jack and Robert Green; and his son, Bradley. He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter, Christy Whitney; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren; as well as his brothers, Mike and Bill; and sisters, Carolyn Johnson, Dorothy Mills and Lyland Green. A memorial service will be held at 10 am at the First Christian Church in Frankfort, Kentucky on January 14th. The family expresses its gratitude to the wonderful care provided by Hospice of the Bluegrass and Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to The First Christian Church in Frankfort, Kentucky; Hospice of the Blue Grass in Lexington, Kentucky or Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado in Grand Junction.
