Bryan Ogburn Obituary

Bryan James Ogburn Bryan James Ogburn passed away after a brief illness on March 12, 2008. He was born November 20, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas. His parents B. J. and LaDelle Ogburn preceded him in death. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Lucia Licon Ogburn; his son, Morgan Ogburn and wife Fiona Cherbak of Austin; his son, Garrick Ogburn of Mobile, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Morgan Avalon, Rafael, Trevor, Eric, Katie and Brendan. He was a graduate of Allen Academy and received his Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University in 1955. Upon joining the U.S. Coast Guard he topped three exams and tests has to be recalibrated as a result. He worked in oil field exploration for Pan Geo Atlas Corp, which became part of Dresser Industries, testing oil wells in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana. He moved to Austin in 1978. He is remembered for his love of opera, classical music, books, photography and an insatiable curiosity. The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Chow, the various specialists and medical staff at Seton Medical Center. Memorial service will be at Unitarian Universalist Church, 4700 Grover Ave, Austin, Texas on Saturday, March 15, 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
