Bruno Ezerski Obituary

Bruno Joseph Ezerski, born July 9, 1922 in Hamtramck, Michigan, passed away June 6, 2009 in Tucson, AZ. Preceded in death by his parents Michael and Pauline (Domzalski) Ezerski and his eldest son Bruce M. Ezerski. He is survived by Bonnie Ezerski of Lawton, Oklahoma and three children, Patricia Ezerski (Randy Campbell) of Tucson, Judy Tatman (Greg) of Tucson, and Barry Ezerski (Lori Parks) of Lawton, Oklahoma and two grandchildren Rachel Campbell and Kevin Ezerski. Bruno grew up in the Detroit area and upon graduation from high school served in the Civilian Conservation Corps until he entered the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles) and was a pathfinder in the battle of Normandy (D-Day). He participated in Operation Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge and liberated Kaufering IV a work camp of Dachau before capturing Berchtesgaden, Hitler's vacation retreat. After the war he graduated from Wayne State University and worked in the sheet metal industry until 1961 when he moved to Chicago. In 1970 he and two partners began Advanced Curing Systems an industrial heating and finishing company. During this time he designed and patented several machines and industrial burners. He was CEO for 33 years until he retired to Tucson in 2003. In 2004 an article in Parade magazine inspired him to buy his first karaoke machine and sing for nursing home residents at the VA and other long-term care facilities. He sang the songs of World War II; the Big Band's and crooned the melodies of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, and many others. He loved to entertain. He passed away on June 6, 2009 on the 65th anniversary of his D-Day mission. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 20 at 10:00 am at Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ (520)296-7193. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Disabled American Veteran's.

Missing Bruno and think of him daily as he was a great Mentor and friend, Rest In Peace Bruno

Bruno was a great friend and mentor to me as we worked together to sell equipment. He was instrumental in my success in the finishing equipment business and was always a great friend. I only wish that I could have heard him sing karaoke and maybe even sang along with him. He will forever be in my memories and my heart.

To the Bruno Ezerski Family:

I did not know Bruno personally, but I am sorry to hear of your loss.

May the gentle mercy
that God has always shown
be with you now so you will know
that you are not alone.

In Deepest Sympathy.

From a fellow US Army Airborne Pathfinder.

I was saddened to learn of Bruno's passing. I came to know him when Hughes purchased some equipment from his firm and he arrived to oversee the installation. He was a man with a zest for life who stood behind his work and always remained true to his word. His service to our Nation will not be forgotten.

June13,2009 In Bible Study Thursday, Chaplain Al told us about your passing. I did not know you very long, but you seemed like a very nice man and everybody liked you. I heard your recital several months ago in the Dining room and could tell you really enjoyed singing. You had a good voice and good musical selections. Now you can sing with the Angels.

I remember Bruno from when I was an activities assistant at Fellowship Square; he was always a gentleman, and carried a positive attitude and had a wonderful smile. One of kind; and as a fellow entertainer, it was fun to have him bring his karaoke machine and watch him not only sing himself, but have others join in.

Uncle Bruno was a wonderful, thoughtful and intelligent man. He was always there to help family and friends. I will miss him dearly and I am forever grateful to what he did for me when I needed a boast in life.

Take care, Bruno. If it was not for guys like you, we'd all be speaking German today. Myself and our nation can't thank you enough. Godspeed, my friend.
