Bruce Holdaway Obituary

Bruce Clyde Holdaway, 57 Our beloved husband, dad, and grandpa returned to his heavenly father on April 29, 2004 in Springville, Utah.


He was born May 1, 1946 in Provo, Utah to Clyde Amos and Delphia Fransen Holdaway. He spent his childhood years in Vineyard, until moving to Payson where he obtained his high school diploma.


He married the love of his life, Colleen Brailsford, on July 11, 1975. Their marriage was later solemnized in the SLC LDS temple.


Bruce Worked for Springville City for 32 years, where he had the opportunity to get out and socialize with people which he loved to do. Everyone will remember him for his sense of humor and outgoing attitude.


Some of Bruce's hobbies include fishing, entering contests, vacationing, spending time with family, serving his church callings, and going on special drives with his wife.


He is survived by his friend, his lover, and his soul mate, Colleen Brailsford Holdaway. He is also survived by his 9 children: Toni (Kelly) Day, R. Heath (Vanessa Shelley) Holdaway, Bruce (Stephanie Peterson) Holdaway, Joshua Holdaway, Kamyelle Holdaway, Travis Holdaway, Austin Holdaway, Terry Holdaway, Lisa (Keith) Bellows; and 10 grandchildren.


Dad, we want you to know how much we love and appreciate all the extra hard work you've done for us. You will be greatly missed.


Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2004, at 11 a.m., in the Spring Creek LDS Stake Center, located at 760 North 400 East, in Springville. Friends and family may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, or at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.

Bruce was definitely the most friendly and happy guy around. I've never met someone so dedicated to saying "hi" and making people laugh. What a great example he has shown to many of us! I feel truly blessed to have know him and I'm sure many feel the same way.
