Betty Karnes Obituary
Betty H. Karnes (nee Hooks), age 84, of LaGrange. Beloved wife of Michael M. for 60 years. Loving mother of Nona (Gary) Massengill and John Karnes. Devoted grandmother of Christian and Daniel Massengill. Cherished sister of Patsy Lemmond and sister-in-law of Audrey Hooks, Celia Prince and Karen Miller. Dear aunt to many.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents John Braxton and Nona Hooks, and her siblings Edwin, Sadie, Steven, Stanley and Paul.
Visitation Thursday, May 19, 9:00am until time of an 11:00am funeral service at Hallowell & James Funeral Home 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Interment Fairmount-Willow Hills Memorial Park.

Mike, Nona, John Christain and Daniel, we send our love and sympathy to all of you. Betty was such a special sister in law as well as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother .We will miss her but will hold on to the wonderful memories of a sweet lady.

I did not know Betty Karnes, but am a friend of her dear niece, Anita McLeod. To each of you I send condolences and comforting thoughts. How hard it is to part with those we love.....but can rejoice in the fact that we WILL meet again. That is God's promise to us. Praises!
