Betty Harville Obituary

RIDGEWAY, Va. - Betty Hodge Harville, 62, of 177 Grand Lake Drive, Ridgeway, died July 14, 2005 at her residence.
Born January 18, 1943, in Henry County, Va., she was the daughter of Elder Walter L. Hodge, and the late Alpha Bowman Hodge.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Ridgeway, where she was a Sunday school teacher, Acteen director, on the Social committee and Pulpit committee, as well as being in charge of the church directory. She worked for Dupont, JC Penney, and was a Mary Kay consultant for 13 years.
She was married to the late Charles I. Harville.
In addition to her father, of Martinsville, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jason (Karla) Gammons of Bassett, Va.; a son, Timothy (Cathy) Harville of Danville, Va.; one brother, Carl L. Hodge of Greensboro; four sisters, Clemmie Stanley of Stoneville, N.C., Carrie Vaughan (John) of Stoneville, N.C., Margaret Hensley (Billy) of Ridgeway, Va. and Barbara Barbour (Jackie) of Ridgeway, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Harville and Ashtyn Gammons.
In addition to her mother and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Hodge Jr. and James W. Hodge.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Ramsey officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hillcrest Baptist Church Fund, 18075 A L Philpott Hwy., Ridgeway, VA 24148 and Hospice of Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 4788, Martinsville, VA 24112.
Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
