Cicero Police Department (32 years), former Security Officer at Jewel Food Stores (17 years) and Korean War Vet, loving husband of 64 years of Lorraine M. nee McCarthy; cherished father of Rosemary (Dan) Konz and John (Mary) Walsh; dearest brother of the late Joan Biganis; dear brother in law of Robert (Diane), Joseph, Larry and the late James (Janis) McCarthy; fond uncle of many.
Services at St. Frances of Rome Church. Entombment and Military Honors at Resurrection Garden Mausoleum.

What a great guy, I first met Bernie when I was a a teenager working at Jewel. I later met his wife Lorraine and thought the world of her too. I later worked with Bernie at Cicero PD and respected him as an officer and a supervisor. Just a great guy with a smile and personality I'll never forget, very sad to hear of his passing but I'll always have great memories of him.

Farewell to one of the best partners and friend a guy could ever have. he was always there to back me up and pull me out of trouble. When he still had a trailer out at Woodsmoke Ranch it was nice to see him and Loraine out there relaxing. I wish his family well. Bernie you will be missed. Keep that star shining up there.
