Dear Pat, You and the boys are in my thoughts and prayers. I will never forget the first day I met Bernie when he came to the corn fields of east central Illinois to visit my school and welcome me to the District #158 family. As a true Chicago gentleman, he could not believe how quiet the countryside was and truly believed he could hear the corn grow! Bernie was my trusted advisor and dear friend. No more loyal man could ever be found. May you find peace and comfort knowing he is in God's hands. Veronda Cottle

Pat and the boys...

We are so sorry for your loss. Genny and I have been discussing happier (and younger) days and some of the fun times we have had with you guys. Bernie was a great friend and will be sorely missed. It was through you two that Genny and I first met and got together and we will be eternally grateful for that fateful day. Our hearts go out to you all and we do plan to visit you in the future.

Pat,
Ron & I want to express our sympathy on the loss of Bernie. He was a kind, gentle man whom we will remember with fond memories. New Year's Eve will never be the same. You were lucky to have each other as partners for all these years. I know your family will give you strength in the coming days.

Pat, you and your family have my deepest sympathy for the passing of your beloved Bernie! We shall miss Bernie as a member of the Brookfield Zoo Friday Docent group; also as a regular member of ROMEO! The five of us enjoyed many lunches together and, in particular, Bernie's unique sense of humor. He will certainly be missed by all. Pleasant memories of this gentle soul will last forever! God bless you and your family as you adjust to the void he has left by his passing.
