To Barry's Family,
I have known Barry for several years through the American Legion. He believed in the mission of the Legion and what it could do for veterans, their families and the community. He also in my eyes took to heart the Preamble of the the American Legion which is "For God and Country. I will miss Barry and I know the American Legion is just that much richer of an organization for having Barry as a part of it.
He will be missed.
God's Speed to all and "Lest we Forget"
With Great respect and prayers,
Ralph W. Rounds II, Assist Dept Chaplain for Illinois

I attended St. Mel HS with Barry and entered into and out of his life for the next 53 years. He was a true gentleman and his dedication to St. Mel HS was greater than any other alum. He was a good friend and even when we did not see one another for a few years, we got together and talked as if we only had not see one another for a couple of days. We will remember Barry in our prayers, Masses and in our stories that will keep his memory alive forever. We will keep his family in our prayers.

Barry, you were so supportive and comforting for me and my family when my brother Jim died in 2006. You deflected our grief and redirected toward an emphasis on a life well lived. I'm sure your family is well aware of your contributions and rejoice that your well-lived life is recognized and applauded by all.

I knew Barry as a teen and had my first major crush on him and we wrote letters when he was in the army. His sister Candace was my BFF. As an adult I had occasion to see him at s few family gatherings here and there. You could see how proud he was when he married Pat and their children were born. I remember Barry as being quiet by nature, but a very giving man and just wanted to say to his beautiful family how very sorry I am for their loss. He accomplished a great deal in his life, and his legacy will live on throught his wife, childen and grandchildren. He is with the angels and out of pain.

Barry, we will miss your humor and smile. The Christmas parties were always brighter with you there and all the pictures that were taken over the years by your camera. You were always prepared to capture the memories. Well, we have many and you will always be a part of the UFCW family memories! May you rest in peace and run those Post meetings up in heaven.
