Arthur De Kruyter Obituary

I miss our breakfasts together, and our evenings at WTAQ. And, of course, his wonderful sermons at Christ church of which we were charter members.

Dear Lucette and Tom. I was sitting at my computer and thought about your dad; googled him and was saddened to see that he went to be with The Lord last January.

He was the inspiration for me to begin a career in church administration. He was wonderful kind, humble and compassionate man. His sermons stirred my heart and inspired me to always use him as the standard and example of a what a true caring Pastor and Inspirational Leader should be.

I can't express enough my belated condolences enough to you and Tom your whole family.

I best remember Pastor D, when I helped you move and your he had come to help you move. I had a wonderful time with him talking to him and simply learning from listening to him explain Biblical stuff in a way that even I could understand.

I couldn't ever thank him enough for being such a great Pastor to me and my family.

As I looked on the web his teaching and other sermons and that 10 week course on Christianity will be passed on to many of those I know that can learn and grow from his timeless preaching and teaching. So his blessing on earth will continue on!! How great is that!!

Dear Lucette,
Our family will always think fondly of you and of your dad and mom. Those were the days in WS. It will not be easy for you to be without him, but God will give you strength and comfort. Love Gladys Schuil, Gail, Gwen, Gloria and Greta.

We were blessed to have had the opportunity to learn and grow from Dr. DeKruyter's sermons and his unwavering witness during the years of '83 through to his retirement. He was truly a "Godly" man and we are very grateful for his dedicated service to the Lord.

Our sympathy to your family, we are so saddened to hear of your loss. Dr. De Kruyter was such a wonderful blessing for the 25 years we were at Christ Church, and we know he was such a blessing to so many others. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Ken and Lynda Hogan, South Haven Mi.

Dear Lucette and family i'm so sorry on your loss. I first met Rev.DeKruyter in 1982 and he always had time to stop and ask how things were going,with a real caring feeling.That was our Lord's peace and light in him i will never forget. R.I.P. Reverend. See you again in God's home...

Dear Lucette, Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Dr. Arthur DeKruyter. He was an inspiration and a great influence in the lives of many congregation members of which we were one since 1985.We were very blessed by him. Carole and John Verre

My sympathies to the entire family. Rev. DeKruyter was so influential in my life. He confirmed me and his sermons move me (I still listen to several of them on old tapes!). I learned what it meant to be a true Christian through his words and actions. I enjoyed working with him one summer when I worked for the church and it's always been an honor to have been one of the first babies baptized by him in the then-new sanctuary in 1970. I know my dear late grandparents (Robert and Janet Katz) counted him as a friend, as well. I'm certain that our Heavenly Father has welcomed his faithful servant home with open arms. Please accept my condolences. His memory will live on in my heart.

Dr. DeKruyter lives on in the hearts and minds of all who encountered him and Gladys. He taught us how to live in God's word and world. He lived his life in the word and taught us too. Thank you for sharing your father, grandfather & great grandfather. He will be missed but his words are still available in the church library. AMEN

Dear Lucette, Your Dad was an inspiration to everyone that new him, both locally and around the world. He was a great man who will be truly missed by all who knew him Especially by Sue and Myself. Our Thoughts and prayers are with You, Thom, The Boys and the rest of the family through this difficult time. All Our Love.

Dr. De Kruyter was one of the biggest influences in my life. His kind and gentle ways were so personal. His sermons were electrifying yet gave us words to live by. His personal counseling was so thoughtful and helped me and my family very much. I have missed him since I moved from Hinsdale in 1982, and I send every good and positive condolence to his family. Surely he is an angel in heaven still helping people here on earth.

Our sincere sympathy to you and your family, Lucette. As you know, your father and I go a long way back, to the days when he and I were on WTAQ, and before his founding of Christ Church, of which we were charter members. My last phone call to him was when he was hoping to head down here to Florida for Christmas, and I was to call him this month to arrange a get-together for lunch, if he was able to stay in Florida. He was, indeed, an inspiration to me, as he was to many. I will miss him and our yearly lunch dates down here in Southwest Florida.
