Arnold Oestmann Obituary

Arnold W. Oestmann, age 94, of Downers Grove, formerly of Westmont, IL, passed away. Beloved husband of the late Marian, nee Andermann (1989); loving uncle of Geraldine (Michael) Hogrefe, Judith A. Oestmann and James (Susan) Oestmann; cherished great-uncle of 6; devoted great-uncle of 5. Mr. Oestmann was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church of Lace and Darien offices were secretary, treasurer, chairman and Elder of St. John, past Director and past President (1962-1963), and one of several organizers of the DuPage County Fair Association, Wheaton, IL. He was past Director and past President (1979-1984) of the DuPage County Farm Bureau in Carol Stream, IL and served as Director of the IL Farm Bureau Federation. He served as DuPage County Agricultural Stabilizing and Conservation Service Committeeman (1965-1972), ASCS original organizer and Director (1953-1992), past president of (1966-1981) of the DuPage County Health Improvement Association, Wheaton, IL and past Director (1979-1984) of the Will-DuPage Service Company. Visitation was Monday, February 16, 2009 from 3-8 p.m. at Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main Street, Downers Grove and Tuesday, February 17, at St. John Luther Church, 7214 Cass Avenue, Darien, IL from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. Interment was in Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien.
