Angela Freund Obituary

Angela h. freund Angela H. Freund, age 103, of McHenry, died Wednesday November 13, 2013, at her home. Born November 28, 1909 in Johnsburg, the daughter of Jacob and Catherine Miller. On September 2, 1933 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, she married Ernest P. Freund. Angela, her husband Ernest, and a sister, Caroline were the owners of Mi Place restaurant, a long time fixture on Green Street. She is fondly remembered for her homemade pies. She was a long time member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Mary Council of Catholic Women and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survived by her children, Patricia Ann Brownyard of San Diego, California, and Curtis A Freund of McHenry; grandchildren, Robert and Cheryl; and great grandsons, Blake Brownyard and Anthony Wan. Preceded by her husband, Ernest; sons, Carter and Rodger; sisters, Laura Freund Rossdeutcher, Caroline Justen, Alvina Gibbs; and a brother, Arnold. Visitation will be on Friday, November 15, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and will continue on Saturday, November 16, 2013, from 10:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr., McHenry to the time of prayers at 11:15 AM, going to the Church of Holy Apostles, for a 12:00 Noon Mass.
