Rose and family,
I am saddened by the passing of my cousin Andy. I will always remember his visits to our farm in Wisconsin when Andy lost his mother, he was about 11 years old and I was about 5.
We dreamed about being farmers together. My dad would comment “the city kid from Chicago is back..
wonder what kind of trouble this time” but Andy learned, after being bit by a horse and
kicked many times by cows, he had a way with animals that gained the creatures confidence eventually. Imagine sitting on a Holstein bull’s head while watering it. Really, I saw this more than once.
I did not see Andy in later years as much but will always remember his way with people and how the rest of the family respected him.
And now at lest for me it begins, the loosing of the first cousin.
….and when my time has come “maybe Andy and I will be farmers together”

Godfather Andy,
I remember when I was younger the times we spent at your house for the girls' birthdays and also for mine. I have your picture with my Dad at his 25th wedding anniversary and put it on my kitchen refigerator to remember you.
Miss you, Rick Turek, Mesa, AZ

Although unfortunate times, my dad was so blessed to be able to share quarters with Andy and we feel very fortunate to have met him and the Piermattei family. From 36 mussel dinners to milk shakes from White Castle - may that twinkling eye/smile of Andy's be eternal. Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with Andy's family.

I just wanted to extend my sympathy to the entire Piermattei family. You have lost a great man. I will forever miss talking to him in the hallways of Willowbrook about how the Sox were doing. Seeing his face after the World Series win in 2005 will be something I will never forget. It's nice to know we have someone rooting for the good guys in heaven. May God Bless all of you in this difficult time.

Andy was always up for watching a sporting event. Whether it was rooting with me for the Sox or against me and for whoever the Bears were playing. He will be missed.
