ALFRED OTTO EMIL PREEN Alfred Otto Emil Preen, age 78, Live Oak, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, after a long illness. The Downers Grove native was currently residing in Live Oak, at the time of his passing. He retired from Spraying Systems Co. in Carol Stream, Illinois, as the Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering, after 38 years. After moving to Live Oak in 2005, he and his wife started Preen Acres Cat Sanctuary, Inc. Alfred is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jo-Ann Preen, Live Oak, Florida. Two daughters, Penny Preen, Joliet, Illinois, and Candi (Michael) Straub, Harvard, Illinois. Three step-daughters, Shirley (Michael) Herzog, Huntley, Illinois, Carol Masse, Valprasio, Indiana, Sharon (Eric) Plasse, Schaumburg, Illinois. Two sons, James "Jim" Preen, Sheridan, Illinois, and Charles (Judy) Preen, Lisle, Illinois. One brother, William Preen, Live Oak, Florida, One sister-in-law, Karen Preen, One niece, Dawn Preen, Live Oak, Florida, one nephew, Phillip Preen, Illinois. He also has eighteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
